Our goals
The network consisting of more than 300 scientists and 50 companies has set itself three goals:
- Promoting the dialogue and information exchange between the chairs of computer science and computer science related research institutions at the universities of the State of Saarland and the companies in the IT sector as well as the foundation of a platform for a collaboration in projects
- Appropriation of a fast access to the scientific and entrepreneurial knowledge available in this region for all those who are interested in computer science and economy
- Advertisement for Saarland as one of the leading IT sites, a place where experts can find suitable surroundings for their work at the university chairs and IT research institutions as well as in IT companies
Where we belong to
The IT Networking for Innovation Saar is a member of the initiative "Germanys Networking for Innovation", which is promoted by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. This initiative offers to outstanding innovation clusters the possibility to introduce their profile to the public - nationally as well as internationally to ensure that Germany´s innovations are visibile. Germany 's Networking for Innovation sees itself as "association of the best innovation networks" in Germany . The membership in this initiative demonstrates a seal of approval.
Partners
At present apr. 50 companies in the IT sector are engaged in the Software Forum Saar, which was founded in 1997. The purpose of the company network is to strengthen the experience exchange and collaboration within the sector to improve the competitiveness, to present the IT competences of the companies in the State of Saarland regional and supra-regional as well as the encouragement of the knowledge transfer between research and economy. Coordination and organisation of the activities are served by the Centre for Productivity and Technology Saar registered association and the state's Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
informatik saarland, the Competence Centre of Computer Science at Saarland University was founded in 2004 and concentrates on the grouping and improved networking of the state's competencies available in teaching, research, technology transfer and further education, among others for the initiation of common projects between universities and research institutions (e.g. German Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Max-Planck-Institute for Computer Science and business).
